Marco Fabbro has formal qualifications in the environmental sciences and has studied fine art. In 1992 he made representations and formal recommendations to a Federal Government Committee investigating the potential impacts of global warming. He has since designed, developed and commercially applied a uniquely Australian environmentally themed craft works and decorative lighting concepts. He seeks to gain a balance between exploring a creative connection with the environment and maintaining a rational understanding of nature and the potentail impacts the built environment may have upon the natural environment.
He formulated and applied several creative environmental education and interpretation projects on the North Coast NSW during the early 1990’s. Further, he has combined light and natural elements in decorative functional elements that to bring focus to natural form and environmental processes.
He has exhibited in Italy and Hong Kong and has represented Australia at the International Sculpture Symposium held in Canada in 2002. He has produced and directed public inter-art collaborations with community based performing and projection artists in cooperation with local government.
